One Room Challenge – Week 6 (Artwork)

We’re in the home stretch of the One Room Challenge… And I’m feeling really glad that the host, Linda from Calling It Home (along with media partner House Beautiful), extended the deadline by a week. I’m sure I sound like a broken record, but I didn’t accomplish much this last week due to commitments in our primary business… I hung my gold mirrors, but won’t be posting a picture yet (need to give you something to check back for next week, right?!). My TV still isn’t mounted, I still haven’t added hardware to my nightstands, and I still haven’t started painting my rug.

Despite that big list of undone items, my main concern at this point is figuring out my artwork situation. The only art that I am sure about is the aerial beach view over my bed, which you saw in last week’s post, and this abstract art print I purchased off etsy from TheCrownPrints. One Room Challenge Artwork Options

I know that piece needs to be incorporated in somewhere, but I’m feeling like it doesn’t have enough visual impact for this corner. Since I have the digital file, I can print it as large as I want, so I’m hunting for a larger frame I like. Or maybe I will take the mat out? Or get a coordinating print to frame next to it…

Here are a few of the other art pieces I’m considering working in to my bedroom. I’m struggling with indecision, partially because I really hoped to complete a big art DIY for my biggest blank wall (but I seem to have run out of time), and partially because holes in walls feel very permanent and scary to me. Given that people pay me to make these kinds of decisions for them, it seems silly that the choice is so difficult, but trust me, it’s very different working on your own home – all of my interior designer friends say the same thing! I guess it will be a surprise to all of us next week to see what ends up in my bedroom. One Room Challenge Artwork Options One Room Challenge Artwork Options One Room Challenge Artwork Options One Room Challenge Artwork OptionsAs you can see, I have a serious thing for abstract art. I’m just not sure yet how I’ll pull it all together… I’m having a hard time deciding what to put where. I feel like the large wall really needs a statement piece, so something large!

The only other real progress I had this last week was hanging my curtains, and I absolutely LOVE them! Here’s a little sneak peak. One Room Challenge Artwork Options

I hope you’ll check back in next week for the big reveal! And don’t forget to check out the other bloggers participating at the One Room Challenge page!

I’d love to hear from you about which artwork you think should make it into the final bedroom reveal. Please let me know in the comments below!
