Kate Spade Inspired Office eDesign

This post about my Kate Spade inspired office is literally two years in the making… I first posted about my plans for this office here, and a year later I updated here. Well, life got a little crazy with our unexpected decision to move, and I’m just now posting about the end result. Better late than never, right?!

My plans changed a bit from the original plan, and I ended up with more of a Kate Spade inspired office design overall. That’s a nice perk of designing for myself instead of for a client… I can switch plans halfway through, based off new inspiration, or if I find a fabulous thrifted piece that I just have to work into the design plan, which was the case with my modern pink credenza.

I never fully finished the space because of our decision to move, which means I never hung the curtains or the artwork (why create extra nail holes to patch?!), but I did get the room pretty close to my Kate Spade inspired office vision. You can see the full plan in this 3D render.

While I am a bit sad that I never completely finished the room, especially after all of the work on my stencil dalmatian walls, I am excited to be able to use the fabric for the curtains in a new way at our new build house. All in all, I think the way the room came together still turned out great though. So without further delay, here is my Kate Spade inspired office, as finished as it ever was!

Besides the dalmatian stenciled walls, the real stars of the show are the modern pink credenza (I spray painted a FB Marketplace find, but you can find similar here, here, and here), and the Leigh Viner art. I’m a huge Leigh Viner fan, and those canvases are the perfect touch against the black wall (Benjamin Moore Soot).

Because of our move, the accessorizing of the credenza stayed pretty simple. I had packed a lot of my accessories into boxes, and I didn’t want to purchase new stuff just to pack it up again, so I made do with the few things I had.

Same goes for the shelf accessorizing… Basically just leftovers I had laying around!

The only item I purchased new for the desk was the little sign that says “Create.” That’s essentially what I do in most areas of my business, and it speaks to that creative side that drives me.

The 1440 sign is a nod to this time management book (I highly recommend) that explains how we only have 1440 minutes in every day, and keeping that reminder in front of me helps me stay more focused and use my time wisely!

The lamp is a Goodwill find I spray painted with Rustoleum Berry Pink.

The books on my desk are both from the dollar store. I’ve found a few gems there over the years!

The tray was found for $4.48 at Target and spray painted with Rustoleum Poppy Pink.

The brass candlestick holders were a thrifted find, and the actual candlesticks were from Hobby Lobby. The glass and brass box was another Home Goods find intended for my bathroom, but I swiped it for this Kate Spade inspired office instead.

The abstract art is an etsy printable, and the gold frame was thrifted.

The Hobby Lobby floral photo box is filled to overflowing, and the colorful notebooks above it are from Walmart for $3.88 each! The globe used to belong to my grandma, and I love that I have a few miscellaneous things of hers throughout my home.

All of these books are dollar store finds, and I have every intention of reading them, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet! So much to do, so little time…

The desk was my dad’s big oak one he had in the home I grew up in. We took it as a hand me down in our first home, and once we moved into the Sweetbay Sanctuary (this one pictured), I painted it white. There’s something sort of sweet about having this piece of my dad and my childhood in my own office. And the desk is super functional, so that is a bonus!

All in all, this Kate Spade inspired office came together quite well, considering that it’s mostly unused accessories and I never quite finished the room. It was still a fun and inspiring place to work until we moved, and now I hope the new owners are enjoying it!

I purchased some great thrifted floral art in pink frames and planned on hanging it on the wall to the right of the French doors, but I’ll definitely be finding a great spot for it in the new home…

Looking at all of these pictures makes me a bit nostalgic about our old house, but it helps having the new one to focus on and look forward to!

Before we moved, we sold off a lot of our furniture, and this pink credenza didn’t make the cut. I’m super sensitive to smells, and there was something in this one that drove me a bit crazy, so I’ll find a different storage solution at the new place.

I’m going to wrap it up with a few more photos here and call it a day.

  1. As someone that is not overly creative from a design standpoint…I am very impressed with the thought of where to take pictures from to give the viewers different vantage points.
